As commercial vehicles become heavier and the need for durability increases, axle fluids are more and more critical for vehicle reliability. Getting the right oil for your vehicle is key to ensuring your rear axle operates as designed and gets the maximum protection under demanding conditions.
In response to that, Castrol has designed a range of axle and universal fluids that can help the vehicle’s axle system perform at its best. Our product range includes fully synthetic and advanced mineral products which have been designed to offer enhanced protection and help prolong component life.
Always consult your vehicle handbook to make sure you find the correct fluid for your axles.
Multipurpose gearbox, steering gear and differential oil for passenger cars, light trucks, farm tractors and earthmoving equipment.
High quality, mineral oil based, multipurpose gear oil for use in most passenger car, light and heavy duty truck conventional differentials, final drives, non-synchronised manual transmissions, steering gears and other applications where API GL-5, API MT-1 or SAE J2360 performance is required.
It is not recommended for those manual transmission manufacturers who prefer non EP (Extreme Pressure) additive containing oils.
Mineral based gear oil for use in limited differentials in cars and commercial vehicles where API GL-5 performance is required; also suitable for use in conventional differentials.
May be recommended for use in differentials, gear boxes, and steering gears of many cars, trucks, farm machinery, earthmoving and excavating machinery requiring a hypoid lubricant.
It is particularly recommended for conventional hypoid differentials where the differential is operating with very high loads.
The higher level of extreme pressure and limited slip additives give added wear protection in both conventional and limited slip hypoid differentials.
A mineral-based gear oil which is suitable for use in limited slip differentials in cars and commercial vehicles where API GL-5 oils with specific limited slip friction performance is required; it can also be used in conventional differentials.
It is primarily recommended for use in the limited slip differentials for fitted to a wide range of Australian, American, Japanese, British and European vehicles. It is also recommended for certain tractor and construction equipment axles and final drives that use “wet brakes” and extreme pressure gear oils.
Mineral based gear oil designed for use in axles and final drives operating under severe conditions and over a wide range of operating temperatures.
It is specifically approved for use in MB Actros, MAN, Scania and ZF axles and is also recommended for other applications where API GL-5 or SAE J2360 performance is required.
Synthetically fortified manual transmission and final drive lubricant. Suitable for use in highly loaded final drives and differentials of commercial vehicles in trucks, buses, vans and 4WD’s as well as synchronised manual transmissions requiring API GL-4 or GL-5.
Fully synthetic rear axle oil for arduous service in rear axle (differential) and power dividers.
Recommended for use in Eaton and Rockwell rear axles operating where long oil drain periods and extended warranty conditions apply. Also recommended for use under severe conditions, particularly in B-double or road train applications.
Full synthetic multigrade final drive lubricant. It is Castrol’s prime recommendation for final drives in heavy commercial vehicles, and is approved by MAN, Scania and ZF. Specially designed and approved by BMW for use in all BMW final drives fitted with conventional (non limited slip) differentials. It is designed to provide superior protection at both high and low operating temperatures where conventional mineral oils prove unsatisfactory.
Full synthetic, multipurpose manual transmission and final drive lubricant.
Castrol Syntrax Universal Plus 75W-90 may be used in synchronized manual transmissions and final drives/differentials of a wide range of vehicles (commercial vehicle, construction equipment, passenger cars) where API GL-4 or GL-5 are required. The product also carries a number of European HD approvals.
