The commercial vehicle engine technology has become more demanding and more complex following the big trends on emission legislation, fuel economy and extended oil drains. As a consequence, modern automatic transmissions have also become more complex trying to meet those vehicle needs.

 

In response to that, Castrol has designed a range of automatic transmission fluids that can help the vehicle’s driveline perform at its best. Our product range includes fully synthetic and advanced mineral products which have been designed to offer enhanced protection and help prolong component life.

ATF DEX III

Castrol ATF DEX III

Castrol ATF Dex III is an automatic transmission and power steering fluid for use in GM automatic transmissions pre 2005 and in many automatic transmissions in a range of makes and models where Dexron (II or III) or Mercon performance is required.

 

Application

 

It is fully compatible with earlier Dexron and Mercon type fluids and maybe used for topping up or completely replacing it.

 

Castrol ATF Dex III is dyed red to distinguish it from engine oils should leakage occur.

For car and commercial vehicle applications.

 

An automatic transmission fluid specifically designed to meet the requirements of Volvo Trucks 97341, Allison TES 389, superseded General Motors DEXRON® III H, Ford MERCON® and Allison C4 specifications. Suitable for use in GM automatic transmissions pre 2005 and in many automatic transmissions where DEXRON® (II or III) or Mercon performance is required. It is also suitable for many earlier model Japanese vehicles where DEXRON® type fluids are recommended. It is recommended for other transmissions where DEXRON® and DEXRON® II fluids are specified except Mercedes-Benz, ZF, BMW, Voith and Renk.

Castrol TRANSMAX Z

Fully synthetic DEXRON® III type ATF with proven outstanding performance in high temperature and heavy duty applications.

 

Excellent for competition use, towing or high performance usage. Suitable for use where DEXRON® fluids are recommended, except where Castrol Transmax Dex VI is specified.

Castrol TRANSMAX Offroad

Castrol TRANSMAX Offroad

(Replaces TFC)

 

A range of transmission fluids specifically formulated to satisfy the requirements of Caterpillar TO-4. Suitable for  Komatsu Micro Clutch transmission fluid requirements. For use in powershift or manual transmissions in many types of earthmoving equipment. 

 

Although the SAE 10W, 30 satisfy Allison C4 requirements, most modern Allison transmissions recommend Castrol Transynd or Dexron® type ATF’s, TES-389.

  • Transmax Offroad 30 prime recommendation for Cat. Powershift transmissions.T
  • ransmax Offroad 50 recommended for Cat. Final drives requiring TO-4.
  • Multifunctional in that Transmax Offroad 50 is recommended for most heavy truck manual transmissions where either SAE 50 engine oil or GL-1, 2 or 3 (straight SAE90 is specified).
  • Transmax Offroad series also approved against ZF TE-ML 03, 04, 06, and 14 in the appropriate viscosity grade.
  • Suitable for Komatsu equipment.

Note:

 

  1. Caterpillar do not approve the use of multigrade engine oils in their transmissions and drive trains.
  2. Satisfies the requirements of Allison C4, however, Allison no longer approve Caterpillar TO-4 type fluids.
