  • Good water separation ability
  • No foam formationNeutral to non-ferrous metals
  • Excellent viscosity/temperature behaviour
  • Miscible with mineral oil-based fluids
  • Disposal of the used products as with mineral oils

Application:

  • Optileb GT Range of synthetic gear oils for food applications, where H1 approval for incidental food contact is required and Kosher and Halal approval. Also periodically checked for any potential allergen substances.
  • For the special requirements of the food and beverage industries where there may be direct exposure of the lubricated part to the edible product or its packaging.
  • For the lubrication of spur, angular and worm gear units.
  • For the lubrication of gear motors in stirring machines, turners, packaging machines etc.
  • For the lubrication of chain variators, rolling and sliding bearings, pumps and closed circulating systems.
Magna range

Lubricating Oil

Description

Castrol Magna™ grades are a range of high-quality additive-free oils possessing inherently good resistance to oxidation and good emulsification properties.

Advantages

  • Highly refined mineral oil makes the product suitable for applications where non-additive oils can be used.
  • Good quality mineral oil enables long service life.
  • Low pour point provides trouble-free operation in cold conditions

Application:

  • Castrol Magna lubricating oils are suitable for a variety of applications such as the lubrication of bearings, spindles and, using the heavier viscosity grades, moderately loaded gearboxes.
  •  They may also be used in vacuum pumps and hydraulic systems where an "ISO HH" fluid type is required. Magna lubricating oils are available in a range of viscosities from 320 cSt for gear lubrication down to 2 cSt for use on fine-clearance high-speed spindles.
  • The Magna range is fully compatible with nitrile, silicone and fluoropolymer seal materials.
  • Magna is classified as follows:
  •  ISO 6743/4 - Type HH

Castrol Alpha SP range

Castrol Alpha SP range

Gear Oils

Description

The Castrol Alpha™ SP gear oil range of high-quality lubricants is based upon highly refined mineral oil, enhanced with an extreme pressure additive technology providing good thermal stability and high load-carrying capacity. The extreme pressure additive system not only provides high load-carrying capacity but was designed to provide microscopic wear protection.Microscopic wear protection, also known as micro pitting protection, is critical in preventing destructive wear at the micro level, therefore, extending gear life and meeting the evolving demands of smaller and higher output gearboxes.

Advantages

  • Extreme Pressure (EP) performance protects gears against wear and shock-loading as measured by FZG performance and demonstrated extensively in the field.
  • Alpha SP ‘Clean gear’ additive technology provides low deposit formation.
  • Good water separation and demulsification.
  • High protection against corrosion and wear.

Application:

  • The Alpha™ SP range is recommended for the lubrication of industrial gear boxes using forced circulation or splash and oil bath lubrication.
  • They may be used for the lubrication of spur and helical gears and in some lightly loaded worm-type gear applications.
  • They have very good viscosity characteristics to ensure starting torques are not excessively high in cold operating conditions.
  • The additives are compatible with the ferrous and non-ferrous metals used in industrial gear units.
  •  The Alpha™ SP range is compatible with the most common types of seal materials.

Product performance claims:

  • Specific grades within the Alpha SP range meet the requirements of:
  • DIN 51517 Part 3
  • AGMA 9005 - E02
  • AIST 224
  • David Brown S1.53.
  • 101 Type ESIEMENS MD Rev 13 for Flender Gear Units (ISO VG 150 - 680)
  • Alpha SP is classified as follows: DIN Classification is CLP
Castrol Hyspin AWS range

zinc additive system.

Description

Castrol Hyspin™ AWS hydraulic oil range is based upon highly refined mineral oil enhanced with a stabilised zinc additive system.

Advantages

  • Hyspin AWS has the following advantages when compared to conventional hydraulic oils:
  •  Good thermal and oxidative stability. Oxidative stability reduces deposit formation, resulting in a cleaner system.
  • This can extend the machinery’s operating life.
  • Excellent anti-wear performance increases wear protection, which can help reduce downtime caused by unscheduled maintenance.
  • Good filterability characteristics, including in the presence of water, enables cost savings to be made from increased filter life and reduced maintenance.
  • Excellent water separation and hydrolytic stability, measured by industry-standard testing. This increases equipment reliability, helping to prolong the lubricant’s life and reduce downtime.

Application:

  • Hyspin AWS has been specially formulated to provide good anti-wear and thermal stability performance using proven additive technology.
  •  The careful blend of additives with a high-quality base stock ensures that Hyspin AWS has excellent hydrolytic and oxidative stability while exhibiting a minimal tendency to produce sludge and deposits. In addition,
  • Hyspin AWS provides corrosion protection to ferrous and yellow metal components found within a hydraulic system.
  • This range is designed for use in industrial hydraulic systems which require anti-wear protection such as lightly loaded gears, variable speed units and bearings.
  • The Hyspin AWS range is compatible with the most commonly used nitrile, silicone and fluoropolymer seal materials.
