Your interactions with the Virtual Assistant and associated data processing serve to effectively respond to your inquiries, which is carried out as part of pre-contractual measures to improve our customer service.
You may choose not to provide us with your personal information. However, if you choose not to provide your personal information, we may not be able to offer some of our services to you.
We may share your personal information with other entities within the bp Group as part of our business operations, including with our parent company bp PLC, headquartered in the United Kingdom.
We may share your personal information with third-party service providers such as WhatsApp, agents and contractors to provide services to us (for example, our accountants, professional advisors, and IT and communications providers). Any third-party provider we appoint must protect your personal information in line with the contractually required security measures.
Your data may be shared with OpenAI, the provider of the GPT API, and OpenAI affiliates. The exact location of data processing depends on the geographical allocation by OpenAI.
We also reserve the right to disclose your personal data as required by law, or when disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, request from a regulator or any other legal process served on bp or Castrol.
In the event that you reside in the EEA, Castrol may disclose your personal data to other BP entities that may be located outside of the EEA. Where this is the case, your personal data shall remain at all-time protected under BP’s comprehensive, flexible, and global compliance framework which implements appropriate measures and safeguards (including EU standard contractual clauses) to ensure that your personal data is protected in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
How long we will hold your personal data will vary based on the purpose for which we are using it.
