CASTROL INDIA BRINGS TRUCK AASANA TO JAMSHEDPUR

The health and wellness initiative developed for indian truck drivers

Truck Aasana - Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, March 26, 2019 – Castrol, the leading automotive and industrial lubricant manufacturing company in India, today conducted a training programme of Truck Aasanas for the truck driver community in Jamshedpur. This programme, which focuses on the health of truck drivers by encouraging them to use simple yoga postures during their trips to stay fit and healthy. This initiative, as part of the Transform Truckers Abhiyaan, a Zee Media initiative and sponsored by Castrol, will be conducted across 10 cities in the country to further spread the message of health and wellbeing amongst truck drivers.

 

A study by Castrol India brought to light the stressful lifestyle of long distance commercial drivers. It found that over 50%** of Indian truckers face driving related l health issues such as lack of sleep, , back and joint pain, neck pain, etc. Addressing these issues, Castrol India in association with The Yoga Institute, Mumbai designed an initiative, namely Truck Aasana which includes a special set of yoga postures meant specifically for truckers to help them during their trips.  

 

Since its inception, the Castrol CRB Turbomax Truck Aasana initiative has reached out to over 150,000 truck drivers across the country, and aims to impact many more truckers in India.
