  • Approved by major original equipment manufacturers
  • To preserve the efficiency of stern tubes and thrusters and help to reduce maintenance: the oil combines excellent protection, extended drain performance and versatility

Environmentally acceptable lubricant (EAL)**

  • Meets the definition of an EAL** under the 2018 US Vessel Incidental Discharges Act (VIDA) based on the requirements in the 2013 US VGP
  • OSPAR**** tested and registered
  • Reduced environmental impact***** when compared to conventional mineral oils

    o   Superior marine biodegradation

o  Significantly reduced bioaccumulation****** and toxicity to marine organisms

    o  Enhanced renewability

**A lubricant, including any oil or grease, that is ‘‘biodegradable,’’ ‘‘minimally toxic,’’ and ‘‘not bio accumulative’’ as defined by US VGP 2013.

Reliability

High specification synthetic oil, tested and approved by several stern tube and thruster original equipment manufacturer

  • Good oxidation stability, anti-corrosion and anti-wear properties
  • Proven outstanding gear and bearing protection compared with standard mineral gear oils

o  Exceptional anti-wear performance (FAG FE-8 bearing test)

o  Outstanding performance (FZG slow speed wear test)

  • Good micro pitting resistance – suitable as a gear oil for deck machinery too
  • Multiple purpose, can replace a range of different products to simplify lubricant management for crews
  • High viscosity index from ISO VG 68 to ISO VG 220
  • Thermally stable to protect over a wide range of operating temperatures (-10ºC to 150ºC)
  • Very good seal compatibility (ISO standard 6072:2002 and OEM elastomer testing)
