We take your privacy seriously and would like you to understand our practices with respect to the handling of your personal data. This privacy statement explains how we do this.

What personal data we process

We use data that identifies you as a representative or contact person of the business you are in. Your business is a customer of Castrol’s. Such data usually includes, but are not limited to, your place of work, name, business email address and/or business phone number  . We view your response to the Survey as opinion of your business, rather than a personal opinion of you. We do not process any special (sensitive) categories of personal data.

How we process your personal data

Your personal data is retrieved from our B2B database. Because your business is a customer of Castrol’s, we liaise with you as a business contact. For the Survey, depending where you are, we use such data to send you the Survey invitation, and/or the Survey itself via phone call, SMS, or email. The legal basis of our processing is legitimate interest where it is viable, or consent where legitimate interest is not available.

Who do we share your personal data with

As an international company, we may store or transfer your personal data to other BP companies around the world. Where this is the case, we do this under a comprehensive, flexible, and global compliance framework which implements appropriate measures and safeguards (including EU standard contractual clauses) to ensure that your personal data is protected in accordance with applicable data protection law. We have the right to disclose your personal data as required by law, or when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, request from a regulator or any other legal process served on BP.

How do we protect and retain your information?

We maintain reasonable physical, electronic, and organizational security measures to protect your information against accidental loss, unlawful destruction or unauthorized disclosure or access. We will only hold your information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, before making it non-identifiable or deleting it.

Your rights, complaints and how to contact us

You have the right to access your personal data and ask for it to be rectified or deleted at any later time. If you have questions or concerns relating to the handling of your personal data, please get in touch with your Castrol contact person, such as a sales rep or a DBM. If you do not wish to participate in the survey, and if you receive a call from us, please inform the agent to unsubscribe you from the list, or if you receive an online form, please unsubscribe from the form. If you are in the EU, you also have the right to raise a privacy concern with the Data Protection Authority established in the relevant EU country.

If you are a Turkish resident, the processing of your personal data will be subject to Law No. 6698 on Protection of Personal Data. Your rights are as provided by Article 11 of this law.
